Who we are

Parterre Design is a boutique design studio. We primarily create outdoor spaces for our clients that reflect who they are and how they live. These outdoor rooms and curated destinations relate back to the architecture, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces and integrating a cohesive and detail-oriented style. Careful attention to plant selection and hardscape material choices ensures sustainability of the design and appropriateness for the specific site.

The importance of relationships enables Parterre Design to work closely with other architects, contractors, interior designers and consultants so there will be a team driven approach throughout the process.

Heidi White, ASLA

Heidi is a second generation landscape designer, following in her father’s design footsteps. She learned to appreciate the beauty of different environments and cultures while growing up between the islands of Hawaii, the coasts of Southern California and the deserts of New Mexico, but her roots run deep in Texas. She has been professionally practicing landscape design in San Antonio since 1996, working on a wide variety of projects from private gardens, ranches and estates as well as public spaces such as parks, hospitality, retail and offices.

Always being drawn to art and design, Heidi enjoys architecture and garden inspired travel and study around the world with her husband, Mac, and their 2 daughters.

Nena Scott, ASLA

Growing up spending summers and weekends in the Texas hill country, Nena’s love of nature and the outdoors became a major part of her identity.  From traveling abroad, her appreciation for art and design was also a part of her childhood interests. She was fortunate to be able to visit private gardens, villas, and the great chateaux in Italy and France on summer trips. She merged these two interests into her focus on landscape design for residential gardens.

Once she completed her studies for landscape architecture, she worked on many residential and ranch projects in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, South Texas, and the Texas Hill Country. Just recently she has had the opportunity to spend time in New England, which initiated a great interest in mid-coast Maine gardens and landscape.
